Hansen Talent Group is hiring a Systems Analyst to support a large team in Columbia, SC.
This opportunity supports critical production and pre-production systems in a fast-paced, high-availability mainframe environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in troubleshooting, performance tuning, and cross-team coordination.
What You’ll Do
• Make recommendations to management to optimize system performance parameters and long-term stability.
• Provide enhancement recommendations aligned with enterprise IT strategy and analyze change requests from maintainers.
• Participate in development and review of custom integration solutions across applications.
• Research and resolve complex production issues impacting internal and external customers.
• Evaluate program interdependencies and assess downstream impact of changes or installations.
• Support production implementations, releases, data conversions, and disaster recovery exercises.
• Monitor system availability and coordinate team resources during high-impact deployments.
• Act as an internal consultant and mentor to Production Support team members.
• Provide training and guidance on current system functionality.
• Perform installations, configuration, scheduling, tuning, and corrective actions in Production and Test environments.
• Monitor batch job cycles, troubleshoot job failures, and engage App Dev or Tech Support when needed.
• Analyze performance issues such as long-running jobs or CPU utilization concerns.
What You’ll Need
• Technical experience in systems analysis, design, programming, or production support.
• Strong Batch Mainframe experience.
• Hands-on experience with JCL, Zeke Scheduling, and TSO.
• Deep understanding of production system maintenance and impact analysis.
• Knowledge of database management concepts and structured development techniques.
• Experience supporting high-availability, multi-platform environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
• Excellent communication skills — ability to coordinate with on-call App Dev and Tech Support teams.
• Ability to work under pressure in a 24x7 support environment.
• Strong attention to detail and teamwork mindset.
