Job Title: IBM iSeries / AS/400 Developer

Location: Remote

Duration: 6+ Months

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced IBM iSeries (AS/400) Programmer/Developer with strong expertise in RPG III, RPG IV/RPGLE, Java, and PHP. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting business-critical applications on the IBM i platform.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain applications on IBM iSeries / AS/400 platforms.
Develop and enhance applications using RPG III, RPG IV, RPGLE, and ILE RPG.
Analyze existing legacy applications and support modernization initiatives.
Develop integrations between IBM i applications and external applications using Java and PHP.
Work with DB2 for i / DB2/400, SQL, stored procedures, and database objects.
Develop and support APIs, web services, and system integrations.
Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and provide timely resolutions.
Optimize application performance and database queries.
Participate in application design, coding, testing, deployment, and production support.
Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, architects, and other development teams.
Maintain technical documentation and follow established SDLC and coding standards.
Participate in modernization and migration initiatives involving legacy IBM i applications.

Required Skills

Strong experience with IBM iSeries / AS/400.
Hands-on programming experience with:

RPG III
RPG IV
RPGLE / ILE RPG
Free Format RPG preferred

Strong experience with Java development and integration.
Hands-on experience with PHP development.
Experience with DB2 for i / DB2/400 and SQL.
Knowledge of CL/CLLE programming.
Experience with REST APIs, Web Services, JSON, and XML.
Experience troubleshooting and supporting enterprise production applications.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
