The Cloud Application Architect (Hands-On) role focuses on designing and implementing scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-native applications within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. This position requires a senior-level professional with a strong technical background to modernize legacy systems, define architecture standards, and directly contribute to development and troubleshooting efforts. Success in this role involves leveraging Azure services, microservices architecture, and AI-assisted tools to enhance application performance and operational reliability.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement cloud-native application architectures using Microsoft Azure.
Define standards for microservices, distributed systems, and API-first designs.
Modernize legacy applications to align with cloud-native patterns and practices.
Ensure security, scalability, and reliability across enterprise applications.
Collaborate with platform, data, and integration teams to optimize system design.
Enhance observability, performance monitoring, and operational resilience.
Provide technical guidance and architecture reviews for engineering teams.
Utilize AI-assisted tools to accelerate development and improve system analysis.
Diagnose and resolve production system issues and contribute to code reviews.
Required Skills:
10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years in cloud architecture.
Proficiency in C#, .NET, and .NET Core development.
Expertise in Microsoft Azure services, including Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure API Management, and Azure storage/messaging services.
Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
Experience with REST API design and service integration.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Proven ability to modernize legacy applications to cloud-native architectures.
Familiarity with AI-assisted development or engineering tools.
Preferred Skills:
Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools to enhance engineering workflows.
