Summary

Job Description A leading organization in the insurance and risk management space is seeking a Lead Data Architect to drive the design, development, and evolution of a modern enterprise data platform. This individual will play a key role in building scalable cloud-based data solutions while establishing architecture standards and best practices across the organization.

This position is ideal for a senior-level data professional with 5+ years of dedicated Data Architect experience and deep expertise in modern data platforms. The Lead Data Architect will partner with engineering, analytics, and business teams to create trusted, governed, and highly scalable data solutions that support enterprise reporting, operational intelligence, and advanced analytics.
Location: Remote (EST/CST preferred) or Hybrid in Boston, MA
Compensation: Up to $160,000 base salary Required Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years of experience specifically in a Data Architect role
  • 8+ years of overall experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related disciplines
  • Expert-level data modeling experience, including conceptual, logical, and physical modeling
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Snowflake architecture and optimization
  • Strong SQL development skills in large-scale enterprise environments
  • Python development experience for data engineering and automation
  • Experience designing enterprise data platforms and cloud-native data solutions
  • Hands-on ELT/ETL pipeline development experience
  • Experience implementing data quality, metadata, and lineage frameworks
  • Strong understanding of modern data architectures, CDC, event-driven ingestion, and orchestration patterns
  • Ability to mentor engineers and communicate complex architectural concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Experience with Databricks
  • Experience with dbt, Airflow, Azure Data Factory, or similar technologies
  • Knowledge of master data management (MDM) and governance frameworks
  • Experience supporting enterprise analytics and business intelligence initiatives
  • Insurance industry experience
  • Snowflake certification
  • Experience with Power BI or other BI platforms
What You Will Be Doing Daily Responsibilities
  • Lead enterprise-wide data architecture strategy and roadmap development
  • Design scalable data models that support reporting, analytics, and operational use cases
  • Build and optimize Snowflake-based data platforms and solutions
  • Architect and oversee cloud-native ELT/ETL pipelines
  • Establish data standards, governance processes, and architecture best practices
  • Design medallion architecture frameworks and data modernization initiatives
  • Drive performance, reliability, scalability, and cost optimization efforts
  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to translate requirements into enterprise data solutions
  • Provide architectural oversight across major data initiatives
  • Mentor data engineers, analytics engineers, and developers
  • Help teams understand architectural principles, design decisions, and best practices
  • Review technical designs and provide guidance on complex data challenges
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and lead proof-of-concept initiatives
