Job DetailsKey Responsibilities
- Handle all phases of litigation from initial pleadings through trial preparation
- Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses
- Conduct depositions, appear at court conferences, and argue motions
- Develop case strategy and assess case value
- Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation and arbitration proceedings
- Maintain clear, consistent communication with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff
- Partner with paralegals and support staff to keep cases moving efficiently and on schedule
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active admission to the New York State Bar
- Minimum 5 years of litigation experience in personal injury, with a focus on premises liability, motor vehicle accidents, and labor law
- Strong background in deposition practice, motion practice, and courtroom advocacy
- Proven ability to independently manage a high volume caseload with minimal oversight
- Excellent legal research, writing, and oral communication skills
- Client focused mindset with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
