Job Title: Technical Project Manager

We seek a dynamic and experienced Technical Project Manager to drive the Dynamics 365 project focused on migrating the Databricks platform to a new subscription. The TPM will work closely with a cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution. You will be responsible for managing the project backlog, aligning the team's efforts with business goals, and helping to optimize resource utilization across the team. Your deep understanding of industry best practices will ensure smooth coordination between the technical and business sides of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
Own and manage the project backlog for the Databricks migration and Dynamics 365 integration.
Work with stakeholders (including business leaders and technical team members) to create and prioritize user stories, ensuring they align with the project s goals and objectives.
Maintain clear and actionable product backlogs for the data migration project and ensure that all requirements are well defined and understood.
Collaborate with the development team to break down and manage the sprint process, ensuring tasks are achievable within the given timelines.
Provide clear direction on project requirements and expectations to ensure successful sprint execution and deliverables.
Ensure that deadlines, goals, and scope of the project are clear to all stakeholders.
Analyze team workload, performance, and resource allocation to identify potential bottlenecks, underutilized resources, and areas of overwork.
Provide data-driven insights into team dynamics, helping to distribute tasks more effectively and ensure all team members are optimally utilized.
Serve as the bridge between the technical and business sides of the project, translating business requirements into technical user stories and priorities.
Collaborate with the Data Technical Lead, Data Engineer, Data Analyst, and other technical team members to ensure all aspects of the migration and integration project are covered.
Work closely with external stakeholders to provide regular status updates, collect feedback, and refine project goals.
Ensure alignment between the Azure Data Factory tasks, the overall Databricks migration, and team deliverables, facilitating smooth project execution and data integration processes.
Provide expertise in industry best practices for data teams, specifically around data pipeline management, cloud architecture, and data integration solutions.
Help the team adopt agile methodologies, continuously improving sprint processes, backlog grooming, and resource management
Assist in identifying and resolving any roadblocks within the data pipeline, ensuring efficient execution and high-quality output.
Regularly communicate progress, risks, and blockers to internal stakeholders and leadership.
Prepare and present clear, actionable reports regarding project status, team efficiency, and any resource gaps that may arise.
Set clear expectations with stakeholders regarding project timelines, scope, and potential risks, ensuring that business goals are met within the required timeframes.
Required Qualifications:
Proven Experience as a Technical Project Manager with a strong background in managing data-related projects, preferably in the context of Databricks, Azure Data Factory, or cloud migration.
Experience working in or managing cross-functional teams that include Data Engineers, Data Analysts, and Technical Analysts.
Proven ability to analyze team utilization, performance, and backlog health, ensuring tasks are allocated appropriately and resources are effectively used.
Solid experience working in an Agile environment, with hands-on involvement in backlog management, sprint planning, and sprint execution.
Familiarity with Dynamics 365 and Databricks is highly preferred, particularly with respect to migrations and integrations.
Proven experience managing data quality across multiple systems, utilizing the canonical model.
Soft Skills:
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across teams and align multiple stakeholders.
Ability to manage competing priorities and tight timelines, delivering high-quality results under pressure.
Strong problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to break down complex problems into actionable steps.
