Job Title: Itron MV-90 Configuration Specialist Remote

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Itron MV-90 Configuration Specialist to support metering and data collection systems within a utilities/energy environment. This role requires hands-on expertise in configuring, deploying, and maintaining Itron systems, with a strong focus on MV-90 and Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI).

The ideal candidate will have experience working with interval data processing, batch configurations, and event-driven data systems originating from field devices, along with a solid understanding of utility operations and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure, deploy, and maintain Itron MV-90 systems for meter data collection and processing
• Manage interval data configuration, including data acquisition, validation, and processing
• Perform batch configuration, scheduling, and monitoring of data jobs
• Handle data upload/download processes between field devices and centralized systems
• Monitor system performance and implement alerting and issue resolution mechanisms
• Troubleshoot device communication failures, including issues related to access points, relays, sockets, and connectivity
• Work with event-driven data structures and ensure accurate data flow from physical field devices
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams supporting AMI, SCADA, and OMS systems
• Ensure compliance with energy sector regulations (e.g., NERC) and maintain proper documentation
• Support system enhancements, upgrades, and ongoing operational improvements

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Itron MV-90 (MV90) configuration and implementation
• Strong background in metering systems and AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure)
• Experience with interval data, batch processing, and data management workflows
• Proficiency in SQL for querying and data validation
• Working knowledge of Unix/Linux environments
• Experience working with data from physical field devices in utility environments
• Strong troubleshooting skills related to device communication and connectivity issues
• Experience within the energy/utilities sector

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with systems such as SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) and OMS (Outage Management Systems)
• Experience with NERC compliance and utility regulatory standards
• Exposure to meter data management (MDM) systems
• Experience working in high-volume data environments with real-time or near-real-time processing
