Summary: OSI PI Engineer will be responsible for integrating real-time asset data and leveraging advanced analytics to optimize plant operations within the oil and gas industry. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and implement data integration strategies, manage digital asset frameworks, and utilize platforms like AVEVA PI System to drive performance monitoring, asset intelligence, and process improvements. Individual will ensure seamless data flow between control systems, develop actionable insights through dashboards and reports, and support capital projects and ongoing system administration. The position requires good understanding in industrial control systems, data integration, and asset management to enhance operational efficiency and support digital transformation initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Asset Data Integration: Collaborate with plant teams to define machine data needs, integrate data into the Asset Framework (AF), and ensure seamless machine data collection from PLC, OPC servers, and other systems.
- Asset Intelligence & Analytics: Leverage AVEVA PI System to build digital asset twins, create dashboards, and develop asset framework analyses for real-time performance monitoring and decision-making.
- Corporate Asset Intelligence Standards: Work with cross-functional teams to define data integration protocols and standardize asset data structures for production, maintenance, and quality.
- PI System Administration: Manage PI system infrastructure, ensure optimal data availability, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate system maintenance with IT teams to ensure uptime and data accuracy.
Preferred Skills:
- Previous experience with AVEVA PI System and related software.
- Experience in SCADA system/HMI graphics development.
- Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages for automating data extraction and analysis.
- Understanding of IT and OT systems integration, including industrial data protocols such as OPC, MQTT, and RESTful APIs for seamless data exchange.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field) required. A master’s degree or equivalent experience is a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical or operational role within the oil and gas industry, particularly in plant IT operations or asset management.
- Experience with data integration and analytics platforms in an industrial setting is essential, particularly in the use of data historians such as AVEVA PI.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with PLC, SCADA, or similar automation systems.
