Role Overview
We are seeking a Software Engineer to support programs focused on training and mission readiness. The primary project involves developing a system that ingests and processes large amounts of operational and simulation data to improve training effectiveness. This platform enables users to visualize, review, and analyze missions more efficiently, reducing planning and debriefing times while improving outcomes. The role involves developing secure applications and infrastructure that combine software engineering, simulation modeling, virtualization, networking, and hardware integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform software development, testing, debugging, modification, and enhancement.
- Develop and maintain kernel and user-level software and scripts.
- Contribute to technical reports and presentations.
- Assist with performing software assurance scans with approved tools.
- Engage in work that includes simulation modeling, virtualization, networking, and hardware integration.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's Degree is required. An ability or willingness to pursue a Master's degree is viewed positively.
Experience: 2-10 years of professional experience is required. Candidates should be comfortable operating across multiple technologies rather than being highly specialized in one area.
Technical Skills:- Demonstrated learning agility and problem-solving abilities to adapt to new technologies and environments.
- C# development experience.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or Terraform.
- Experience with virtualization technologies, including virtual machines, hypervisors (VMware/ESXi), and general virtualization concepts.
- Linux administration and troubleshooting experience.
- Experience with source code management tools (e.g., Git, Subversion).
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle.
Preferred Qualifications
- Web application development experience, particularly with Blazor.
- Database experience, including PostgreSQL and API development.
- Experience with networking or hardware/software integration.
- Experience with secure software development practices.
- Experience with build automation tools (e.g., Gradle, Maven).
- Experience with containerization, AI/ML, or the Intellij IDE.
- Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., TestNG, JUnit, Mockito).
- Advanced skills in SELinux, Multi-Level Security (MLS), or Cross Domain Solutions (CDS).
