Our client, a leader in the insurance industry, is looking to hire an Instructional Designer in Kitchener on a contract basis.
The responsibilities for this position include:
Design and develop creative learner-centered e-learning courses.
Conduct needs analysis using sound design principles to identify and define training needs.
Collaborate with Instructional Designers LMS Specialist and Continuing Education Compliance Specialist to design learning experiences determine the best delivery method and share vision.
Develop engaging learning materials using a variety of tools and products such as Articulate Rise Adobe Premiere Pro and Canva.
Provide expert direction on the visual design learning resources.
Build e-learning courses that are professional interactive and creative while applying best practices in adult learning and instructional design.
Performs the role of project manager for the design and development of e-learning courses
Apply accessibility requirements to e-learning programs.
Analyze test results evaluations and reports to determine trends and respond with follow-up training/information where required. Identify and troubleshoot moderate to complex problems.
Implement the CE Learning strategy and project pipeline strategy.
Collaborating within the training team as well as with SMEs and cross-functional project teams.
Work closely with internal clients to understand business and individual training needs.
Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders to anticipate needs and build engaging learning solutions.
Develop project schedules and agree upon delivery dates for projects including detailed client communication.
Remain current in industry innovations design standards and copyright laws.
Complete clerical duties routine documentation and administrative tasks.
Formulate formative and summative assessments through reviewing audio recordings presentations and scripted content.
Qualifications:
3+ years of instructional design experience using ADDIE or similar design model
Knowledge of and ability to apply adult learning principles
Creative and innovative with the ability to produce engaging and effective content using the Articulate suite and Adobe cloud.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Strong ability to influence across all levels.
OTHER:
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm or 9am - 5pm
Hybrid Schedule: Tuesday - Thursday in Office
Length of Contract: 18 months
Opportunity: Although this is for a maternity leave contract, there is opportunity for this to extend or convert to a permanent role in the future
