Job Overview
We are seeking a Technical Services Specialist (Associate Level) to support engineering and project coordination efforts within the electric distribution domain. This role involves assisting with design, planning, and execution of utility distribution projects while serving as a key point of contact for customers and internal teams.
The ideal candidate will have foundational knowledge of electric distribution systems, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Design Support
- Assist in the design and evaluation of electric distribution systems for new construction and maintenance projects
- Perform work order assessments and support engineering designs based on project requirements
- Evaluate system capacity to support new loads and mitigate future impacts
Project Coordination & Management
- Support planning, scheduling, and execution of engineering projects
- Prepare resource estimates including labor, materials, and work types
- Track project progress, performance metrics, and reporting
Customer & Stakeholder Interaction
- Act as a point of contact for customers regarding project scope and updates
- Coordinate with internal departments to gather requirements and finalize project plans
- Handle customer communication, negotiations, and issue resolution
Compliance & Process Improvement
- Ensure adherence to company standards, policies, and regulatory requirements
- Participate in process improvements, meetings, and training initiatives
- Support engineering documentation and permitting activities
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s Degree in Engineering, Electrical, or related field
OR High School Diploma/GED with relevant work experience - 3+ years of experience in any combination of:
- Utility or electric distribution industry
- Customer interaction and coordination
- Electric Power Technology Certification
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Basic project management and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master s Degree in Engineering or related field
- Prior experience with electric utility design or field operations
- Exposure to permitting and regulatory processes
