Job Title: C Developer (Batch Applications)
Duration: 6+ months contract
Location: Lakewood CO 80227

Description:

• Codes, tests, debugs, implements, and documents programs.
• Assists in the modification of company products and/or customer/internal systems to meet the needs of the client and/or end-user.
• Gathers information from the system, analyzes program and time requirements, and prepares documentation to change existing programs.
• Researches and analyzes existing systems and program requirements, under periodic supervision.
• Analyze, design, and review design of applications and suites of applications to ensure that customer specifications are satisfied.
• Able to create complex design documents and translate them into component-level designs to accelerate development.
• Utilizes experience in development methodologies, coding documentation, testing methodology and industry standards to define and develop project requirements, functional specifications, and detailed design of application solutions for clients.
• Applies client and 3rd party technologies to software solutions of moderate to advanced complexity.
• Develop strategy, design and data gathering approaches.
• Designs programs for projects or enhancements to existing programs.
• Writes specifications for programs of moderate complexity.
• Assists in resolving production support problems.
• Develops and suggests alternative approaches to resolving problems.
• Develops test plans to verify logic of new or modified programs. Identifies issues as appropriate.
• Developing and executing regression testing strategies
• Creating, maintaining, and updating technical documentation such as design and testing documents
• Conducts quality assurance activities such as peer reviews.
• Remains abreast of and research industry technical trends and new development to maintain current skills and remain current with industry standards.

What we're looking for:

• 4+ years of experience in applications development and batch programming with some experience making changes to moderately complex batch business applications using C.

Experience with the following:

• Proficiency in C programming, including experience with performance optimization, memory management, and debugging.
• Strong SQL skills, preferably using embedded in C, using an Oracle database
• Hands-on experience with Linux/Unix environments, including shell scripting, process management, file systems
• SOAP and RESTful interfacing
• JSON
• Visual Studio Code or other IDE, including debugger tools
• TFS, Git or other versions of software
• Healthcare and Medicare systems experience is highly desired
• Advanced understanding of testing tools and unit test scripting, and testing methodologies.
• General understanding of Medicaid, HIPAA, and PHI
• Experience with Medicaid claims adjudication

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Bachelor's degree in business, software engineering, computer science, or related field preferred
• Three or more years of product design and support experience
• Experience working with software design, software development life cycle, and development methodologies and implementation
• Experience working with product systems design principles
• Experience working with appropriate programming languages, operating systems, hardware, and software
• Experience working with company application development policies and procedures.
• Analytical, problem solving, creative thinking and design skills at multiple product

• Heavy focus on C coding and not necessarily C #
