Senior Software Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Orlando, FL.

About the Role:
We are building data-intensive systems that provide unprecedented supply chain visibility for defense-critical procurement. The platform ingests, normalizes, reconciles, and enriches data from multiple government and commercial sources to produce analytical outputs that directly inform procurement decisions involving millions of dollars.

This is not a CRUD application. Source data is heterogeneous, inconsistently structured, poorly documented, and constantly changing. Many upstream systems were never designed to interoperate, and schemas often change without notice. Your job is to make this data accurate, auditable, queryable, and decision-ready.

You will work across the full stack - from data ingestion pipelines and relational modeling through structured APIs and internal tools - in a codebase where correctness, traceability, and auditability take priority over speed of feature delivery. The team is small, ownership is real, and architectural decisions made now will persist for years. This platform operates in regulated cloud environments.

REQUIREMENTS:
* 7-12 years of professional software engineering experience
* Strong production experience with TypeScript on the server side (Node.js, Deno, or Bun)
* Production experience with Go (services, tooling, CLIs, or data pipelines)
* Deep expertise with PostgreSQL: schema design, migrations, indexing, query optimization, and operating complex relational models
* Proven experience building data ingestion pipelines for inconsistent, low-quality, or poorly documented source systems
* Experience building internal tools or admin interfaces for non-technical users
* Strong understanding of relational modeling, normalization tradeoffs, and data correctness
* Experience with structured logging, observability, and production monitoring
* Comfortable working independently with high ownership and clearly communicating technical decisions

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
