* Actively monitor database health, capacity, and performance; Proactively prevent incidents
* Partner with application teams to improve database design and query efficiency
* Review database changes prior to production deployment and assess risk
* Coordinate database changes with systems engineers, infrastructure teams, and application teams
* Support controlled deployments, rollback planning, and post-deployment validation
* Maintain runbooks, standard operating procedures, and operational documentation
* Support and maintain ETL workloads (primarily SSIS)
* Troubleshoot failed jobs, data load issues, and data integrity problems
* Partner with data and application teams on schema changes and data flow design
* Provide technical guidance to junior DBAs and developers
* Establish and enforce database standards, best practices, and operational procedures

REQUIREMENTS:
* 10+ years of hands-on database administration experience in enterprise environments
* Deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (2012-2022)

Strong experience with:
* Backup and recovery strategies
* High availability/disaster recovery
* Security and compliance
* Production monitoring and incident response

* Advanced T-SQL skills
* Experience supporting SSIS workloads
* Experience working in regulated environments (healthcare, finance, insurance, government)
* Comfortable working closely with infrastructure and systems teams
* Experience supporting production systems with high uptime requirements

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in healthcare or HIPAA-regulated environments
* Exposure to Azure SQL/Hybrid SQL Server environments
* Experience with Agile delivery teams
* Prior experience acting as a senior escalation or lead DBA
* Familiarity with change management tools and ITSM platforms (ServiceNow, etc.)
