Programmer Senior - Automation / Application Development

Description:
Seeking highly motivated and self-directed Senior Programmers to develop and modify applications and automation scripts supporting VFMP modernization. This role includes planning, coding, testing, implementation, and production support activities, leveraging strong SQL/RDBMS skills and experience integrating COTS solutions.
These positions are contingent upon contract award.
Job Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and implement automation and application enhancements supporting VFMP operational efficiencies.
Develop and modify web-based applications, client-server applications, and scripts for process automation.
Implement and integrate COTS solutions into existing architecture.
Perform technical analysis and troubleshooting of program and production issues; implement remediation.
Document test conditions, create test data, execute tests, and analyze results.
Produce technical documentation (design notes, runbooks, release notes) aligned to delivery expectations.
Required Skills:
Strong application development skills with SQL/RDBMS; scripting and automation experience.
Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and production support capability.
Strong documentation and communication skills.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Security clearance.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Experience automating high-volume operational workflows.
Familiarity with healthcare transaction processing and/or EDI-adjacent workflows preferred.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience).
6+ years relevant development experience preferred
