Position Overview
We are looking for highly experienced Java/J2EE professionals to develop and support mission-critical, enterprise-grade eCommerce applications across large, multi-year projects.
The selected candidates will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable solutions, developing new applications, enhancing existing production systems, participating in code reviews, and contributing throughout the full software development lifecycle.
The Team Lead will additionally provide technical leadership, mentor developers, drive engineering best practices, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise-grade eCommerce applications.
- Develop new applications based on business and technical specifications.
- Support and enhance applications currently in production.
- Participate in the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Analyze and solve complex technical and architectural challenges.
- Develop scalable web applications using Java/J2EE and modern frameworks.
- Participate in code reviews and promote software development best practices.
- Work with cross-functional teams to define technical solutions and requirements.
- For the Team Lead role: mentor developers, provide technical guidance, and help drive engineering excellence.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of overall IT experience.
- 5+ years of Java web development experience.
- Strong eCommerce payment gateways/ Retail Digital experience.
- 2+ years of experience mentoring or providing technical leadership.
- Hands-on experience with Java 8 and J2EE/Jakarta EE.
- Full project lifecycle experience delivering complex Internet-based applications.
- Strong understanding of software development and testing lifecycles.
- Strong Core Java programming skills.
- Experience developing enterprise applications using technologies such as:
- Java 8/J2EE/Jakarta EE
- Spring / Spring MVC
- Hibernate
- AngularJS and/or React.js
- JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, jQuery, JSON
- SQL
- Strong experience developing REST/SOAP web services and working with HTTP protocols.
- Experience with multi-tier web application architecture.
- Experience with SAP Hybris is highly preferred.
- Strong SQL/database development experience with MySQL and/or Oracle.
Additional Technical Skills
- Experience with Apache Tomcat or other J2EE application servers.
- Experience with Maven and/or Ant.
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux-based environments such as Linux, Solaris, HP-UX, or BSD.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git, CVS, or Subversion.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming concepts.
- Experience with XML/XSLT, XPath, XMLBeans, or JDOM.
- Familiarity with Java libraries/frameworks such as Log4J, Commons, ANT, and JUnit.
- Experience with JMS and message queue technologies such as IBM MQ is a plus.
- Exposure to Content Management Systems such as CQ5 or Interwoven is a plus.
- Experience with MySQL Cluster is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- SAP Hybris / eCommerce platform experience.
- Java or J2EE-related professional certifications.
- Experience working on large-scale, enterprise eCommerce platforms.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- For Team Lead: demonstrated experience mentoring developers and providing technical direction.
