Job Title: MES/SCADA Support Engineer
Hybrid in Chicago Area, IL with travel to locations around the Midwest up to 50% of the time

Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled MES/SCADA Support Engineer to support, maintain, and enhance our manufacturing execution and industrial automation systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on expertise in Rockwell FactoryTalk, SCADA systems, and industrial networking, along with a proactive approach to system performance, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and maintain MES and SCADA systems to ensure high availability and optimal performance

• Work extensively with Rockwell FactoryTalk applications, including troubleshooting and system enhancements

• Integrate software systems with industrial hardware, including PLCs and HMI interfaces

• Design, implement, and maintain distributed SCADA architectures with redundancy

• Execute system upgrades, patches, and configuration changes with minimal downtime

• Develop and manage custom SCADA/HMI displays and configurations

• Administer and support SQL databases related to MES/SCADA systems

• Perform network troubleshooting and design for industrial environments (SCADA/MES)

• Manage remote access to systems using Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) and VPN

• Coordinate and execute switch outages and network maintenance activities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement system improvements

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Rockwell FactoryTalk

• 3+ years of experience working with SCADA systems in industrial environments

• Strong experience in SCADA system integration (software to hardware), including distributed architectures and redundancy

• 3+ years of experience in industrial/electrical networking

• Experience designing and troubleshooting network topologies for SCADA/MES systems

• Proficiency with Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) and VPN-based system access

• Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs

• Working knowledge of SQL/database administration

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in manufacturing or industrial automation environments

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment

• Excellent communication and documentation skills
