DuckCreek Architect

Key Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and design for Duck Creek implementations and enhancements (Policy, Billing, and/or Claims).
• Define and maintain Duck Creek manuscript configuration, inheritance models, data models, product structures, and rating logic.
• Provide technical oversight for integrations with downstream systems (e.g., document management, payment gateways, data warehouses).
• Translate business requirements into scalable, high-performance technical solutions.
• Review and approve technical design documents and configuration strategies.
• Guide upgrade strategy and support platform version migrations.
• Establish best practices for development, configuration, and deployment.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and provide root cause analysis.
• Mentor developers and configuration analysts.
• Collaborate with enterprise architecture to align Duck Creek solutions with cloud, security, and DevOps standards.

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on experience with Duck Creek (Policy, Billing, and/or Claims).
• Strong experience with Duck Creek Author, Transact, and related tools.
• Deep understanding of manuscript configuration, rating, product design, and workflow.
• Experience integrating Duck Creek with third-party systems and APIs.
• Knowledge of SQL, XML, and system integration patterns.
• Strong understanding of insurance lifecycle processes (underwriting, billing, claims).
• Experience in Property & Casualty insurance technology is a plus.
• Experience leading technical teams and conducting design reviews.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in medical malpractice or specialty P&C lines.
• Experience with Duck Creek SaaS/cloud deployments.
• Familiarity with Azure or cloud-native architectures.
• Experience supporting Duck Creek upgrades and version transitions.
• TOGAF or architecture certification preferred.
• Agile/Scrum experience.
