Engineering Change Specialist, ECN and BOM Management

Location: Farmington, CT
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000 to $95,000 per year

Own the engineering change process that keeps products, BOMs, and production aligned, working at the center of every cross-functional team.

Must-Haves

  • Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, bills of material (BOMs), and change control procedures
  • Experience with ERP/MRP and PLM systems
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of the metric system
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and inventory considerations
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage several engineering changes at once

What You\'ll Do

  • Manage and improve the engineering change management process, including ECN workflows and procedures
  • Validate, prioritize, and process engineering change requests
  • Lead cross-functional reviews with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Procurement
  • Evaluate technical, cost, inventory, quality, and schedule impacts of proposed changes
  • Manage approval workflows and change releases
  • Build implementation plans covering effectivity, inventory disposition, and supplier coordination
  • Determine rework and inventory disposition for affected parts
  • Maintain accurate BOMs, drawings, material master data, and ERP/PLM records
  • Track change metrics and lead post-implementation reviews
  • Create training materials and train teams on change processes

Nice-to-Haves

  • 3 to 5 years in engineering change management, manufacturing, industrial engineering, or supply chain
  • SAP and Smartsheet experience
  • Associate\'s or bachelor\'s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (equivalent experience considered)

Compensation and Benefits

  • $65,000 to $95,000 per year
