Job Description
We are seeking a PCB Layout Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in complex PCB design, miniaturization for dense form factors, and Allegro PCB tools and a proven ability to lead end-to-end layout execution across rigid, rigid-flex, and flex designs while coordinating cross-functional reviews and supplier engagement.
Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple complex PCB layout projects and provide timely status reports within enterprise systems.
- Lead designs from kick-off through tape-out for rigid, rigid-flex, and flex PCBs across product and test builds.
- Plan and drive project meetings including kick-off, placement, constraint, and design reviews to verify against the Design Traveler.
- Create and modify engineering tool project templates, configuration data, and design rules.
- Apply electrical engineering principles for power distribution, high-speed circuits, and RF signal integrity in layout decisions.
- Identify execution risks and propose alternative PCB development workflow solutions with managers and TPMs.
- Propose practical fit and function solutions to advance miniaturization objectives.
- Collaborate with EE leads, Mechanical Engineering, TPMs, and other cross-functional teams to resolve design issues.
- Partner with internal DFM engineers to confirm supplier requirements at project launch.
- Engage suppliers and SQE/PE to resolve DFM issues and enable high-yield builds.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in complex PCB design.
- 5+ years of experience with Allegro PCB Design tools, version 23.1 or newer.
- Strong understanding of mechanical aspects of electronics design.
- Effective communication skills and cross-functional collaboration.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
Preferred Skills:
- BS in Electrical Engineering.
- 3+ years implementing miniaturization solutions in dense form-factor designs such as wearables or mobile devices.
