Position OverviewThe Application Systems Analyst oversees enterprise application administration, driving strategic initiatives, standardizing configurations, and ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing platforms across the organization.
This role partners closely with business stakeholders and IT teams to optimize application performance, improve adoption, and support ongoing system enhancements.
A Day in the LifeIn this role, you will:
- Define, standardize, document, and enforce best practices and operating procedures within Workday
- Oversee the configuration, deployment, maintenance, and lifecycle management of product-related systems and applications
- Proactively implement systems and processes to ensure applications meet established SLAs for performance, availability, and security
- Develop and deliver user training, technical documentation, and change management support to enhance adoption and system usage
- Build strong partnerships with business stakeholders to identify pain points, validate concerns through audits, and assess business impact
- Collaborate with product vendors, project managers, and development teams to deliver system enhancements and new features
- Identify opportunities to improve application performance, reliability, and operational efficiency
- Analyze user and stakeholder feedback to continuously improve systems and workflows
- Design and implement automation for routine administrative tasks and operational workflows
- Manage integrations between product systems and enterprise applications, ensuring reliable data flow using APIs and automation tools
- Partner with QA, Integration, Release Management, and other IT teams to advance process maturity
- Lead system upgrades, migrations, enhancements, and feature releases while minimizing downtime and business disruption
- Advise business and technology partners on application configuration options aligned to project outcomes
- Translate technical issues into business terms and provide clear status updates, risks, and contingency options
What You'll BringMinimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in system analysis, implementation, and application administration within Workday
- Strong knowledge of SaaS and on-premises application architectures and security principles
- Hands-on experience with system integrations and enterprise data flows
- Experience administering corporate applications such as HRMS, Finance, Budgeting/Planning, Time & Attendance, Spend Management, Procure-to-Pay, or Document Management systems
Preferred qualifications:
- Workday certification(s)
- End-to-end functional knowledge of procurement, invoicing, and expense management processes
- Advanced scripting and automation skills, including Python, PowerShell, APIs, or similar technologies
