Genesis10 is currently seeking an Engineer for a hybrid position with a Major Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12 month contract opportunity. This role will join a Data Center Exit program, providing additional engineering capacity to support both the Storage and Compute/Virtualization workstreams. The position involves close coordination with application, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure business continuity while minimizing operational risk. Most migration activities must be performed during evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities: - Support a large-scale data center exit program
- Perform storage migrations, server and virtual machine migrations
- Participate in environment build activities, testing, and cutover execution
- Conduct post-migration validation and decommissioning activities
- Coordinate with application, infrastructure, and business teams
- Perform migration activities during evenings and weekends to avoid disruption to production services
Requirements: - 5-7 years of experience in IT infrastructure
- Technical background in storage, compute, and virtualization
- Experience with data center migrations or similar large-scale infrastructure projects
- Ability to analyze technical issues and develop effective solutions
- Strong problem-solving skills
