Genesis10 is currently seeking an Engineer for a Hybrid position with a Major Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12 month contract opportunity. This role is part of a large-scale Data Center Exit program, requiring additional engineering capacity to support both the Storage and Compute/Virtualization workstreams. The successful candidate will engage in a long-term project involving migrations, environment builds, and decommissioning activities. This position requires close coordination with application, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure business continuity while minimizing operational risk.
Responsibilities: - Execute storage migrations, server migrations, and virtual machine migrations
- Participate in environment build activities, testing, and cutover execution
- Perform post-migration validation and decommissioning activities
- Coordinate with application, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure successful delivery
- Support migration and cutover activities during evenings and weekends to avoid disruption to production services
Requirements: - 5-7 years of experience in a relevant technical role
- Proven experience with data center migrations, including storage, server, and virtualization technologies
- Ability to analyze technical issues, develop solutions, and support IT systems
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team and coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as required by the migration schedule
