Description

A growing private aviation services organization is seeking a Senior Systems / Infrastructure Engineer to support and secure its enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms, and business-critical systems. This is a hands-on role responsible for administering Microsoft technologies, Azure cloud environments, virtualization platforms, networking, and security tools while driving infrastructure modernization and operational excellence.

What You'll Own

Microsoft 365, Azure administration and migrations, Active Directory, Entra ID, VMware/Hyper-V, infrastructure modernization, security tools, and identity management. Networking experience is important but serves as a supporting component of the role rather than the primary focus.

Role Focus

This position is primarily centered on systems administration and infrastructure engineering, with significant responsibility for Azure administration, cloud implementations, migrations, and hybrid environments. You'll work across Microsoft technologies, virtualization, identity management, and security platforms while helping drive modernization initiatives throughout the organization. Security operations and network administration are important aspects of the role, but deep network architecture is not the primary focus.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Cloud Administration
  • Administer and support Microsoft 365, Entra ID (Azure AD), Active Directory, Windows Server, Group Policy, and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Lead and support Azure administration, implementation, migration, and optimization projects.
  • Design, deploy, and maintain Azure cloud services, hybrid identity solutions, and cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Manage VMware and Hyper-V environments, enterprise servers, storage, backups, and core infrastructure.
  • Implement patching, monitoring, system hardening, and infrastructure best practices.

Network Administration
  • Manage and troubleshoot enterprise LAN/WAN environments.
  • Support switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, wireless infrastructure, and network segmentation.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability across on-premises and cloud environments.

Security & Identity Management
  • Administer Okta, MFA, identity governance, privileged access, and user lifecycle management.
  • Support SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management, endpoint security, IDS/IPS, and security monitoring platforms.
  • Perform vulnerability remediation, risk reduction, and security hardening initiatives.
  • Implement Zero Trust security principles and secure access controls.

Incident Response & Compliance
  • Participate in security incident response, investigation, root cause analysis, and remediation efforts.
  • Support compliance initiatives related to NIST, CIS, SOC 2, GDPR, and CCPA.
  • Maintain technical documentation, infrastructure diagrams, runbooks, and operational procedures.

Requirements

5+ years of experience supporting enterprise infrastructure and cloud environments.

Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Microsoft 365
  • Active Directory
  • Entra ID (Azure AD)
  • Windows Server
  • Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
  • Azure Administration
  • Azure Implementations and Cloud Migrations
  • VMware and/or Hyper-V
  • Enterprise networking (LAN/WAN, VPN, wireless)
  • Firewalls and security platforms

Experience supporting identity platforms such as Okta.

Experience with vulnerability remediation, endpoint security, and infrastructure hardening.

Strong troubleshooting, communication, and project implementation skills.
