Duration: 6+ Months (with possible extension based on performance)
Shift: Monday - Thursday | 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM
About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced
Avionics Technician IV to perform advanced avionics maintenance, installation, and repair activities in compliance with
FCC, FAA, and applicable regulatory standards. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently on moderately complex avionics systems.
Key Responsibilities- Perform avionics maintenance in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards
- Install, test, troubleshoot, and repair moderately complex avionics systems and components
- Interpret technical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and maintenance manuals
- Perform wire routing, wiring installation, repair, soldering, and crimping tasks
- Maintain test equipment, tools, and technical documentation
- Ensure compliance with all safety and quality procedures
- Assist in mentoring and guiding junior technicians when required
Required Qualifications- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Typically 10+ years of relevant avionics experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Strong proficiency in:
- Avionics maintenance and installation
- Wiring installation and routing
- Technical schematics and diagram interpretation
- Soldering and crimping techniques
- Ability to work with specialized avionics tools and equipment
- Must have own tools in good working condition
Preferred Qualifications- FCC familiarity or FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL)
- Experience using test equipment (e.g., oscilloscope, spectrometer, pitot-static systems)
- Background in Aerospace & Defense, U.S. Department of Defense, or Military
- Ability to mentor junior team members
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance (if required)
Work Environment & Conditions- Frequent exposure to outdoor conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.)
- Exposure to loud noise, fumes, and hazardous materials
- Safety-sensitive role involving aviation systems, equipment, and hazardous materials
Physical Requirements- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and climbing
- Repetitive use of hands, arms, and fingers requiring dexterity
- Visual acuity (close, distance, depth perception, color differentiation)
- Ability to distinguish different tones and volumes
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
