Summary

This is a full-time opportunity based in the United States supporting Western Operations in the industrial construction sector. The role focuses on providing strategic leadership and acting as the technical subject matter expert for Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) across all projects in the region, ensuring regulatory compliance, adherence to standards, and predictable project performance.

The standout feature of this role is the opportunity to shape the QA/QC culture for an entire region while working on large and complex projects across multiple industries, including utility, industrial, and oil & gas markets. The ideal candidate is a highly experienced QA/QC professional with strong technical expertise, leadership ability, and a collaborative mindset. You will work directly with operational teams, project managers, and leadership to implement quality solutions, coach field personnel, and drive continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Experience
10-15 years of progressive QA/QC experience in heavy industrial construction (Utility, Industrial, Oil & Gas markets)
Proven ability to implement and manage QA programs across multiple projects and large territories
Experience providing technical oversight for welding, fabrication, and structural steel quality
Strong knowledge of NBIC, ASME, AWS, ISO, and other federal, state, and local regulatory codes
CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) required; ASNT Level III preferred
Experience staffing and managing QA/QC personnel, including union craft oversight
Demonstrated success in leading audits, inspections, root cause investigations, and corrective action plans
Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and data management software
Excellent communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills
Willingness and ability to provide 24/7 on-call support and travel to job sites across the region

Desired Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Metallurgy, or related technical field preferred
Experience managing QA/QC for a wide range of complex projects in a corporate or multi-project environment
Established client relationships in the utility, industrial, or oil & gas sectors
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Solution-minded, goal-oriented, quality-focused, with a high degree of integrity

Data Management and Reporting

Daily Responsibilities
Administer and implement QA/QC policies, procedures, and management systems for the region
Lead incident investigations, corrective actions, and non-conformance resolution
Conduct audits and self-inspections, track trends, and monitor performance metrics
Provide technical guidance and training to operational leaders and field personnel
Review bid documents and customer specifications for QA/QC requirements
Develop site-specific quality plans, welding data sheets, and weld schedules
Act as onsite QA specialist as needed on small and large projects
Manage QA/QC tools, equipment inventories, and calibration records
Support continuous improvement initiatives and quality alerts across projects
