Document & Research Liaison I
Duration: 6-Month Contract (Potential for Extension)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Local Time)
Work Arrangement: Hybrid - Minimum 3 Days Onsite Per Week
Position Overview
We are seeking a Document & Research Liaison I to support legal research, documentation, and case management activities within a highly regulated environment. This role is responsible for researching complex issues, preparing legal documentation and summaries, supporting complaint investigations, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and internal policies.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and comfortable working with confidential information while collaborating across multiple business units.
Responsibilities
- Research, document, and support legal and regulatory cases.
- Communicate with internal legal teams regarding matters impacting business operations.
- Investigate and respond to regulatory and customer complaints.
- Research and analyze claims, identify issues, and assist with case resolution.
- Identify compliance concerns and recommend updates to procedures and documentation.
- Conduct legal and documentary research using internal systems and available resources.
- Request and gather documentation from internal business partners to support investigations.
- Prepare written legal summaries, analyses, reports, and supporting documentation.
- Summarize depositions and other legal proceedings.
- Serve as a point of contact for escalated legal matters.
- Assist with the preparation of audit responses and regulatory reporting.
- Participate in departmental projects and cross-functional initiatives.
- Research and respond to sensitive customer complaints and confidential matters.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure policies and procedures are accurately documented and consistently followed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- 1–5 years of experience in legal research, compliance, investigations, financial services, or a related field.
- Strong ability to read, interpret, analyze, and communicate complex legal documents.
- Basic understanding of state and federal court systems and legal processes.
- Experience researching and summarizing legal statutes, regulations, or compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of operational and regulatory risk concepts and practices.
- Familiarity with legal documents such as trusts, powers of attorney, court orders, and related documentation.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Ability to build effective working relationships across departments and with stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within the financial services, banking, or credit union industry.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance, audits, and legal documentation processes.
- Experience supporting legal, compliance, risk, or regulatory teams.
