Summary

Location: Columbia, SC
Work Arrangement: Fully Onsite
Employment Type: Contract
Interview Mode: One round, In-Person.
Residency Requirement: Candidate MUST be a current South Carolina resident. No relocation allowed.

Core Responsibilities

Firewall Administration: Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot Check Point security gateways, including VSX and r82 versions.
Network Integration: Administer and deploy Cisco data center networking products, ensuring high-performance interaction with security layers.
Rulebase Optimization: Simplify and optimize the Check Point rulebase to meet business requirements while following security best practices.
Security Validation: Test and validate security protections, including Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), geoblocking, and Quality of Service (QoS).
Hybrid Security Support: Support Cisco Secure Firewall and Cisco ASA to maintain comprehensive security requirements.
Knowledge Transfer: Train IT staff for ongoing administration and provide technical documentation for all deployed solutions.

Required Experience & Skills

Check Point Expertise: 10+ years of experience deploying and administering Check Point security gateways.
Cisco Networking: 10+ years of experience administering and deploying Cisco data center networking products.
Virtual Systems: 5+ years of hands-on experience with Check Point VSX.
Check Point r82: Proven experience operating and administering Check Point version r82.
Certifications: Must hold (or have held) relevant Check Point or Cisco professional certifications.

Preferred Qualifications

Cisco FirePower: Experience deploying and administering Cisco FirePower systems.
VPN Solutions: Experience with Cisco Remote Access VPN deployment and administration.
Soft Skills: Ability to coordinate with diverse business stakeholders and translate technical requirements into actionable security policies.
