Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced
Lead Structured Cabling Technician to oversee and perform structured cabling installations for commercial projects. This role is hands-on and leadership-focused, responsible for leading technicians on-site, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to industry standards.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and supervise structured cabling crews on job sites
- Install, terminate, test, and certify copper and fiber cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, fiber optic)
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications
- Plan daily tasks, assign work, and monitor job progress
- Perform troubleshooting, testing, labeling, and documentation of cabling systems
- Ensure compliance with ANSI/TIA/EIA, BICSI, and local building codes
- Maintain quality control and enforce safety procedures
- Coordinate with project managers, customers, and other trades
- Train and mentor junior technicians
- Maintain tools, materials, and company vehicles as required
Required Qualifications- 2+ years of structured cabling installation experience
- Prior experience leading or supervising cabling crews
- Strong knowledge of copper and fiber infrastructure systems
- Ability to terminate, test, and certify cabling to industry standards
- Ability to read blueprints and low-voltage drawings
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in ceiling spaces
- Reliable, organized, and professional with strong communication skills
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Myrtle Beach, SC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
