Job Description

U.S. Bank is seeking a full-time Reliability Engineer (Multiple openings) in Earth City, MO. The Reliability Engineer is responsible for a combination of supporting production applications and proactively looking for ways to automate discoveries, eliminate incidents from recurring, and/or reduce the time it takes to get customers back up and running. In addition, the Reliability Engineer will focus on improving the following for applications: availability, latency, performance, efficiency, and effective proactive monitoring and interface with business users, development teams and system administrators to ensure systems perform to meet their business needs and specifications. Specific duties include: 1) developing, coordinating, and conducting technical reliability studies on engineering designs to assess the likelihood that a product/process performs its intended function over the intended lifecycle; 2) measuring and analyzing the reliability of the design, materials, processes, cost, and final products of production; 3) recommending design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliability; 4) completing risk analysis studies of new designs and processes; (5) providing production support to maintain application availability; (6) engaging and improving the whole lifecycle of software application services from inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinement using tools including GIT, Jenkins, Docker and automation tools including Chef, Puppet, and Ansible; (7) maintaining infrastructure using Redhat enterprise Linux servers where the application is hosted; (8) performing deployment plan procedures and executing integration testing to ensure there are no issues post the application deployments and ensure it is functioning as expected; (9) Java based application integrating with Tomcat as middleware layer to host the application; and (10) monitoring the application and improving the performance using Application Performance tools including Appd and Splunk.

Basic Qualifications:

This position requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, or Computer Information Systems and 5 years (progressive, post-baccalaureate) experience providing production support to maintain application availability.

Required Skills/Experience:
Must also have 24 months of experience with each of the following: (1) engaging and improving the whole lifecycle of software application services from inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinement using tools including GIT, Jenkins, Docker and automation tools including Chef, Puppet, and Ansible; (2) maintaining infrastructure using Redhat enterprise Linux servers where the application is hosted; (3) performing deployment plan procedures and executing integration testing to ensure there are no issues post the application deployments and ensure it is functioning as expected; (4) Java based application integrating with Tomcat as middleware layer to host the application; and (5) monitoring the application and improving the performance using Application Performance tools including Appd and Splunk. Employer will accept experience gained concurrently. U.S. Bank is subject to and conducts background checks consistent with the regulatory requirements applicable to our industry and operations.
