Job Title: Oracle OCI Cloud Engineer / Database Administrator

Location: Richmond, VA (Hybrid/Onsite Support Required)

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Oracle OCI Cloud Engineer/Database Administrator to support and manage enterprise Oracle cloud and database environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Oracle Database Administration, WebLogic, APEX, ORDS, Data Guard, and RMAN. This role requires strong experience in database upgrades, performance tuning, automation, disaster recovery, and production support.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments.
• Administer Oracle Database 19c and higher versions, including upgrades and migrations.
• Develop and maintain Oracle APEX applications and ORDS services.
• Configure and administer Oracle WebLogic Server and Fusion Middleware.
• Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions using RMAN and Data Guard.
• Manage database patching, maintenance, and lifecycle activities.
• Monitor and optimize database performance using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
• Automate routine administrative tasks using Shell Scripting, Ansible, and GitLab.
• Support production environments and participate in after-hours/weekend maintenance and on-call rotations.
• Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to ensure successful deployments and operational stability.
• Document operational procedures and provide knowledge transfer as needed.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Oracle Database 19c and above.
• Experience upgrading Oracle Databases from 19c to 26ai.
• Oracle APEX Administration and Support.
• Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS).
• Oracle WebLogic Server Administration.
• Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM/Grid Control).
• RMAN Backup and Recovery.
• Oracle Data Guard.
• Container Database (CDB) and Pluggable Database (PDB) Administration.
• PDB Cloning.
• Linux/Unix Administration.
• Shell Scripting.
• GitLab and Ansible Automation.
• Oracle Database Migration (Solaris to Linux).
• Database Performance Tuning and Optimization.
• Production Support and On-Call Experience.
