Position Summary
We are seeking a senior-level Data Center Commissioning Technician with deep expertise in UPS systems, critical power infrastructure, and large-scale load testing. This is not a preventative maintenance or parts replacement role. This position requires a commissioning professional who can lead testing events, interface confidently with general contractors and clients, and execute high-risk power transitions in live environments.
The ideal candidate has completed multiple full data center commissioning projects, understands commissioning levels (L2 L5), and has hands-on experience executing MW-scale load bank testing and generator-to-UPS transfers under load.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and execute data center commissioning activities (Levels L2 L5)
Perform and oversee large-scale load bank testing (500kW to 1MW+)
Execute generator-to-UPS transfer testing under live load
Commission and validate parallel redundant UPS systems (N+1, 2N)
Perform static and maintenance bypass transitions without load disruption
Conduct closed-transition generator testing
Validate synchronization (voltage, frequency, phase alignment)
Commission lithium-ion and VRLA battery systems
Perform battery discharge testing and string balancing verification
Identify and troubleshoot DC ground faults and bypass events under load
Integrate UPS systems with BMS / EPMS platforms
Execute commissioning from approved MOPs; redline and update documentation
Ensure compliance with ISO, NFPA, and NEC standards
Enforce safety standards and stop work when unsafe conditions arise
Lead multi-stakeholder commissioning events ( EC, CxA, client)
