Application Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in that is seeking an Application Engineer. This role is hybrid/remote and reports to the Director of Software Engineering. A fully remote option may be available for the right candidate.

Summary:
An organization in the mortgage industry is seeking an Application Engineer II to support the design, configuration, and ongoing enhancement of its mortgage technology stack. This individual will work closely with end users of Encompass and various integrated third-party systems, manage support queues, contribute to process-improvement discussions, and develop resources that empower users to self-serve.

This role is critical for understanding current-state challenges, documenting requirements, and configuring Encompass to support optimized business workflows. The position collaborates heavily with IT teams, business leaders, and end users to evaluate business processes, data integrity, and compliance considerations within the loan origination system.

Essential Functions:
* Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders through creative, innovative solutions
* Participate in projects as a subject matter expert on business processes, system configuration, and support strategy
* Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to Mortgage Technology systems and third-party vendor integrations
* Collaborate with cross-functional and cross-application teams to gather requirements, recommend solutions, and implement changes
* Coordinate the timely reporting of bugs, outages, support issues, and enhancement requests to software vendors, and communicate progress to end users
* Perform migrations across environments and support frequent deployments to production
* Support testing initiatives to ensure solutions meet business and technical requirements

REQUIREMENTS:
* A Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Computer Science disciplines or equivalent experience
* Encompass Admin Certification (Issued by ICE) preferred
* 5+ years of technical experience with Encompass LOS as an administrator
* Knowledge of mortgage loan origination lifecycle is required, including, but not limited to loan origination, processing, underwriting, closing, post-closing, secondary marketing, investor delivery, and servicing
* Prior Encompass TPO Portal Experience preferred.
* Encompass Next Generation platform experience preferred
* Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with all levels of the organization

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
