Summary

Job Title: Chief of Staff (Early Career)
Role Summary
We are hiring an early-career Chief of Staff to support senior leadership with executive communications, financial/budget analytics, and KPI dashboarding. The ideal candidate is a PowerPoint + Excel power user, highly organized, comfortable working with data, and able to leverage AI tools to speed up analysis and create executive-ready materials.
Key Responsibilities
  • Executive enablement / business cadence
    • Support weekly/monthly operating rhythms (leadership meetings, KPI reviews); track actions, risks, and decisions.
    • Draft concise leadership updates, meeting notes, and follow-ups.
  • Executive storytelling (PowerPoint)
    • Build and polish leadership decks (performance updates, strategic initiatives, issue/resolution briefs).
    • Convert complex inputs into a clear narrative with crisp visuals and bottom-line up front takeaways.
  • Finance, budgeting & analysis (Excel)
    • Support budgeting and forecasting activities; maintain trackers for spend, headcount, and run-rate.
    • Perform variance analysis and identify drivers; build light financial models and scenarios.
  • Analytics & dashboards
    • Create and maintain executive dashboards for KPIs (financial, operational, customer, sales as applicable).
    • Build automated or semi-automated reporting using Excel (PivotTables/Power Query) and/or BI tools.
  • AI-enabled productivity
    • Use approved AI tools to accelerate drafting, summarization, data exploration, and dashboard documentation aligned to company policy and data/privacy requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • 3-5 years experience in business operations, finance, consulting, analytics, or similar
  • Advanced PowerPoint (executive formatting, storylining, charts, slide cleanup)
  • Advanced Excel (PivotTables, XLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, formulas; Power Query preferred)
  • Working knowledge of finance/budgeting concepts (forecasting, variance, business drivers)
  • Strong communication skills; ability to influence without authority
  • High attention to detail, confidentiality, and strong follow-through
Preferred Qualifications
  • Power BI / Tableau experience
  • SQL (basic)
  • Exposure to energy/retail electricity, pricing, customer analytics, or commercial operations
  • Power Automate, VBA/macros, or automation experience
What Success Looks Like (30 90 Days)
  • Leadership decks delivered with minimal edits and clear executive narrative
  • A reliable weekly/monthly KPI dashboard with driver commentary
  • Improved reporting speed through templates, automation, and AI-assisted workflows
  • Clear action tracking and tight follow-through across stakeholders
