Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Specialist to support data modeling, integration, and analysis initiatives across structured data systems. This role is delivery-focused and hands-on, supporting time-bound projects that require strong technical execution, collaboration with multiple stakeholders, and the ability to operate effectively in evolving environments.
The Data Specialist will work with internal teams and external partners to ensure data is accurate, standardized, interoperable, and well-documented.
Key Responsibilities
Data Modeling & Management
• Design, review, and maintain relational data models and schemas
• Map existing datasets to standardized data structures
• Validate data completeness, accuracy, and consistency across systems
Data Analysis & Engineering Support
• Develop and execute complex SQL queries for analysis and validation
• Use Python or similar languages for data transformation and automation
• Support backend data workflows and structured data pipelines
Data Integration & APIs
• Support the design, testing, and maintenance of APIs and data exchange mechanisms
• Work with internal and external systems to enable secure and reliable data sharing
• Troubleshoot integration and interoperability issues
Documentation & Governance
• Document data definitions, schemas, workflows, and technical specifications
• Support data governance processes including version control and change management
• Contribute to data standards and best practices
Stakeholder Collaboration
• Work cross-functionally with engineering, product, analytics, and business teams
• Communicate technical findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders
• Support project delivery by tracking tasks, milestones, and dependencies
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative, technical, or analytical discipline (or equivalent experience)
• 3+ years of hands-on experience working with structured data systems
• Strong proficiency in SQL and working knowledge of Python or similar languages
• Experience with relational databases and data modeling concepts
• Familiarity with APIs and data integration workflows
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and deliver against tight deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting backend data infrastructure in regulated or data-intensive environments
• Exposure to data governance, standardization, or reference data initiatives
• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms
• Experience working on multi-stakeholder or cross-team projects
• Prior contract or consulting experience
• Ability to read / write Spanish

• Excel / Google Sheets (advanced use)
• Documentation tools (Confluence, Word, Markdown)
Compensation & Contract Details
• Hourly Rate: USD $70-75
• Contract Length: 12 months
• Compensation is based on location, experience, and skill level
• This is a contingent contract role and does not include employee benefits
