Job DetailsResponsibilities:
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability
- Design foundry tooling, patterns, and workholding using 3D CAD software
- Develop gating and rigging systems and support casting simulation efforts to reduce defects
- Improve foundry processes including molding, core making, melting, pouring, and finishing
- Troubleshoot production issues using root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
- Apply metallurgy principles to casting and heat treatment processes
- Program and optimize CNC equipment such as mills and lathes to improve throughput and quality
- Review engineering drawings and align machining processes with current capabilities
- Define tooling, fixturing, and inspection requirements for machining and finishing operations
- Support Lean manufacturing initiatives such as Six Sigma, 5S, and value stream mapping
- Develop inspection methods, analyze performance data, and drive continuous improvement
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field preferred
- 3 to 5 years of experience in foundry, machining, or manufacturing environments
- Proficiency with CAD and CAM software such as SolidWorks, Creo, or Mastercam
- Experience with casting simulation tools is a plus
- Strong understanding of GD&T principles
