Top Requirements:

5+ years of Software Engineering experience (or equivalent through consulting, military, training, or education).

4+ years Java + Spring/Spring Boot experience.

2+ years Python experience (backend or data-driven).

Hands-on experience with Kafka, event-driven architectures.

Experience with Flink for stream processing and pipelines.

Database experience with MongoDB + Oracle.

Deep understanding of Reactive Programming (WebFlux, etc.).

2+ years building and consuming REST APIs.

Plusses:

3+ years Cloud experience.

Exposure to LLMs, agentic architecture, prompt engineering concepts.

Familiarity with ADK, Playbook, or similar agent frameworks.

Job Summary:

In this contingent assignment, the Software Engineer will consult on and contribute to complex, large-scale Software Engineering initiatives. The role involves analyzing multifaceted engineering challenges, evaluating multiple variables-including unprecedented factors-and helping resolve complex technical issues. The engineer will collaborate with internal client teams, contribute to solution design, and ensure compliance with engineering standards, policies, and organizational requirements. This position requires senior-level technical expertise across backend engineering, event-driven systems, and modern stream-processing frameworks.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Engage in complex Software Engineering initiatives impacting large-scale systems.
• Review and analyze multi-faceted engineering challenges requiring deep technical evaluation.
• Provide expert-level consultation to resolve complex technical problems.
• Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to meet engineering deliverables.
• Develop backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and Reactive Programming (WebFlux).
• Build, enhance, and maintain Python-based backend components.
• Design and maintain Kafka-based event-driven systems.
• Develop Flink-based stream processing and real-time pipelines.
• Work with MongoDB (NoSQL) and Oracle (RDBMS) data stores.
• Build and consume REST APIs according to enterprise API standards.
• Work with cloud technologies (preferred) and optionally experiment with LLM/agentic tools.
