Summary

Avanciers are seeking a Product Quality Engineer with strong expertise in RMA triage, failure analysis, and hardware debugging at rack, server, board, and GPU module levels. The ideal candidate will play a key role in identifying root causes of product failures, driving corrective actions, and improving overall product quality for high-performance computing platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage RMA intake and triage by capturing failure symptoms and system configurations while ensuring full traceability (serial number, lot, date code, etc.).

  • Perform hands-on debugging and failure analysis at rack, server, board, and GPU module levels.

  • Reproduce reported issues and isolate root causes across power, clock, reset, PCIe, thermals, firmware (BIOS/BMC), and driver interactions.

  • Generate detailed failure analysis reports with clear findings and recommendations.

  • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and CAPA activities using structured methodologies such as 8D and 5-Why.

  • Drive containment actions and validate corrective and preventive solutions through closure.

  • Analyze RMA and defect trends to identify recurring issues and top failure contributors by lot, vendor, or assembly line.

  • Publish quality metrics and dashboards and recommend design, process, and test improvements.

  • Collaborate with manufacturing, NPI, supplier quality, and reliability teams to resolve yield, incoming quality, and systemic escape issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Strong hands-on experience debugging server platforms and GPU modules, including PCIe, power delivery/VRs, high-speed I/O, and thermal systems.

  • Experience with RMA processes and quality workflows, including issue tracking and reporting tools.

  • Excellent documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • Ability to work under tight timelines and drive issues to resolution.
