Your new company
You will be joining a highly respected engineering and controls consulting firm specializing in advanced Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) for mission?critical facilities. Based in the greater NYC metro area, the firm supports major data center operators, technology companies, and commercial real estate clients with complex systems design, integration, and commissioning services. As the company continues to expand its data center engineering practice, they are seeking a skilled Team Lead BMS/EPMS Engineer to take on a leadership role and drive high?visibility projects while mentoring junior team members.

Your new role
  • Lead and oversee BMS/EPMS design projects for large?scale data centers
  • Train and support junior Associates and Controls Designers
  • Select equipment and prepare detailed technical reports
  • Attend project meetings and coordinate directly with clients and vendors
  • Perform QA/QC reviews to ensure high?quality deliverables
  • Maintain and update data processes, templates, and engineering standards
  • Produce plans, drawings, and technical documentation
  • Develop sequences of operations and controls narratives
  • Draft control process diagrams, P&IDs, and instrumentation documents
  • Create control panel layouts and network architecture designs aligned with client specifications
  • Prepare controls bench testing scripts and validate system performance
  • Review and approve submittal packages and shop drawings
  • Prepare specifications for control systems and support implementation activities
  • Provide subject?matter expertise throughout commissioning and integration phases

What you'll need to succeed
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 7-10+ years of experience in BMS/EPMS design or controls engineering
  • Strong knowledge of data center cooling systems
  • Strong understanding of BMS/EPMS/DCIM/SCADA systems as applied to HVAC and data center environments
  • Proficiency interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and facility layouts
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with high attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to non?technical stakeholders
  • Familiarity with industry standards applicable to data center design
  • Preferred: Engineer?in?Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license
