Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer / Instructional Designer to support the creation, maintenance, and enhancement of user-facing documentation and instructional content for a healthcare technology product portfolio. This role will also support content migration efforts into a modern component content management system (CCMS).
The ideal candidate will have strong technical writing experience, expertise in developing instructional materials, and familiarity with structured authoring environments. This is a highly collaborative role that requires working closely with cross-functional teams including product management, engineering, regulatory affairs, design, and subject matter experts.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, update, and maintain user guides and instructional documentation for multiple product configurations and markets.
- Ensure documentation accuracy, consistency, and compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support content migration and implementation initiatives within a component content management system (CCMS).
- Contribute to the improvement of documentation processes, workflows, and content governance practices.
- Collaborate with product teams, engineers, designers, regulatory stakeholders, and subject matter experts to develop high-quality documentation.
- Manage documentation deliverables while meeting project timelines and deadlines.
- Support multilingual content maintenance and publishing activities.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor''s degree in Technical Communication, Information Systems, Library Science, English, Communications, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in technical writing, content management, documentation development, or instructional content creation.
- Experience developing user-facing manuals, guides, and instructional materials.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Hands-on experience with Adobe InDesign, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Experience working with collaboration and project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Miro, and Smartsheet.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, Agile environment.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with DITA, XML, structured authoring, and component content management systems (CCMS).
- Experience supporting content migration projects.
- Background in healthcare, medical devices, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, or regulated industries.
- Familiarity with regulatory documentation requirements and compliance-driven environments.
- Understanding of medical, clinical, or technical product documentation.
