Work Environment

  • Chicago office – 5 days per week on-site.
  • First-round interview will be conducted via Microsoft Teams.
  • Second-round interview will be in person.
  • Interview process consists of 2 rounds, including a panel interview.
  • Travel may be required up to 25%.

Position Overview

Seeking Technical Product Manager professionals to join clients Digital’s Technical Product Management team. This role will help create the next generation of digital solutions that enable enterprise growth across prime sales, aftermarket parts, and services.

The Product Manager will maximize product and enterprise value by defining product requirements, developing technical solutions and engineering roadmaps, and driving solution reuse. This position will work closely with Product Owners, System Engineering, Data & Analytics Architects, Platform Architects, development teams, customers, and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maximize the value of the product and define work across multiple Scrum teams.
  • Develop and progressively elaborate functional and non-functional Epics and Features for development teams.
  • Own and prioritize the Technical Product Backlog based on business and customer value.
  • Define and communicate product vision, strategy, and roadmap.
  • Establish clear acceptance criteria for product features.
  • Serve as the key decision-maker regarding product features, priorities, releases, and backlog content.
  • Communicate backlog priorities and expectations to development teams.
  • Make decisions regarding release dates and release content.
  • Act as the voice of the customer and maintain strong engagement with customers and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, System Engineering, Data & Analytics Architects, and Platform Architects.
  • Lead product strategy and roadmap development for larger, more complex initiatives with significant organizational value.
  • Identify opportunities for solution reuse, data utilization, API commercialization, and enterprise value creation.
  • Communicate product releases and updates to stakeholders and customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by client management.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of professional experience, or
  • Master’s degree with 6+ years of professional experience.
  • At least 4 years of Product Management experience in the software industry is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum software development environments.
  • Experience managing products, platforms, applications, or data-driven solutions.
  • Strong ability to work with technical and business stakeholders.

Required Technical & Professional Skills

  • Business Analysis: Ability to identify business needs, evaluate requirements, and recommend solutions that deliver stakeholder value.
  • Product Management: Experience managing product vision, strategy, roadmaps, requirements, backlogs, and releases.
  • Decision Making & Critical Thinking: Ability to analyze complex situations and make informed, productive decisions.
  • Communication: Strong ability to communicate technical concepts, business needs, priorities, and product decisions effectively.
  • Software Product Business Knowledge: Understanding of software product operations, current usage, future plans, product vision, and customer value.
  • Software Engineering: Knowledge of software engineering methodologies, development practices, and technical concepts.
  • Stakeholder Management: Ability to collaborate and influence across engineering, architecture, business, analytics, and customer teams.

Preferred / Top Candidate Qualifications

  • Experience leading programs from product strategy through roadmap development and execution.
  • 4+ years of software Product Management experience.
  • Experience with data analytics and commercializing APIs.
  • Business-level Product Management experience supporting applications or data platforms.
  • Experience working with enterprise digital products and platforms.
  • Heavy-equipment industry domain knowledge is a plus.

Candidate Considerations

  • Candidates should demonstrate stable employment history and strong tenure; consistent job hopping or choppy tenure may be a concern.
  • Candidates must be able to work on-site in the Chicago office 5 days per week from Day 1.
  • Candidates who are not currently local but are willing to relocate at their own expense should clearly indicate their relocation commitment and ability to be onsite from Day 1.
