Role Overview
This position plays a crucial role in supervising the improvement, maintenance, and management of the information security posture and related technologies. The role entails leading security projects, providing technical guidance and mentorship to 2-3 direct reports, and overseeing defensive operations. This is a hands-on lead role requiring strong technical skills to investigate and respond to threats.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor junior security engineers and analysts.
- Oversee blue-team defensive operations, including incident response, forensics, and threat hunting.
- Develop automation and scripting solutions, particularly with KQL for Microsoft Azure and Defender.
- Provide and support the vulnerability management program.
- Collaborate with business units and stakeholders to represent the security function.
- Manage vendor relationships, including MSSPs, and work with cross-functional teams to enhance security controls.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Sciences, or Business Administration is required. A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience: 5 years of experience leading information security initiatives independently. 3 years of experience leading information security programs, including mentoring or managing junior security personnel. 5 years of experience with risk assessment tools, technologies, and methods.
Technical Skills: Experience with blue team or SIEM defense, incident response, forensics, and threat hunting. Proficiency in automation and scripting, specifically with KQL (Kusto Query Language). A background in networking before moving into information security is beneficial.
Certifications: CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) is required.

- Experience in Healthcare IT.
- GCIH - GIAC Certified Incident Handler.
- GPEN - GIAC Penetration Tester.
- GCFE - GIAC Certified Forensic Examiner.
Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated pay range for this position is $126,000 to $170,000 annually. This employer offers a comprehensive benefits package.
