Product/Project: Ruggedized Aircraft Displays

Summary:
Our client is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to guide the design and development of ruggedized electronic systems. This individual will provide both technical leadership and hands-on engineering support across digital, analog, and power electronics development. The role focuses on building scalable hardware architectures while ensuring designs meet strict reliability and environmental requirements. The candidate will work closely with Mechanical, Software, Systems, and Test Engineering teams to deliver integrated products while maintaining best practices around design reviews, documentation standards, and engineering processes. The position will also mentor engineers, support proposals and technical roadmaps, and serve as the senior hardware authority during development and qualification of rugged electronics platforms.

Required Skills:
Strong systems engineering experience for Aerospace, Med Device, Automotive/Heavy machinery, or similar industries
Strong understanding of digital, analog, and power electronics design for embedded systems
Hands-on experience with PCB design, signal integrity, thermal management, and EMI/EMC mitigation
experience supporting environmental qualification and compliance testing
Experience working within cross-functional engineering teams supporting NPI or phase-gate product development processes

Bonus skills (not required):
Experience with MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, and DO-160
Ruggedized electronics experience
Altium experience
Prior experience supporting environmental qualification and compliance testing
Experience leading hardware architecture decisions for modular electronic systems
