Job Description
We are seeking an AI-Ready Knowledge Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in enterprise data domain modeling, taxonomy, ontologies, and semantic knowledge representation and a proven ability to design and operationalize AI-ready information architectures that enable governed analytics and LLM use cases.
Responsibilities:
- Lead development and maintenance of the enterprise data domain model, taxonomy, and ontologies to ensure shared understanding, semantic consistency, and discoverability.
- Design and evolve information and semantic models that make data AI-ready for BI, applied ML, and LLM use cases, including search, retrieval-augmented generation, and copilots.
- Operationalize data models, taxonomies, and semantic structures through the Enterprise Data Catalog (Alation).
- Define and enforce standards for data modeling, taxonomy, nomenclature, and semantic structures to support consistency and interoperability.
- Confirm and document prioritized metadata for key processes, analytical use cases, and AI-enabled workflows aligned to governance and risk expectations.
- Identify simplification opportunities to reduce redundancy, converge overlapping datasets, and promote canonical sources.
- Partner with analytics, data science, and AI engineering teams to ensure metadata and semantic context support explainable and governed AI outcomes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 7-10 years working with data, metadata, and reference data frameworks, including metadata management and data quality monitoring.
- Proven leadership in developing business glossaries, domain models, and ontologies for semantic consistency and AI-ready data usage.
- Understanding of how semantic models, metadata, and knowledge representation enable applied AI and LLM use cases such as search and question answering.
- Strong business acumen linking data to process drivers and performance management with a value delivery mindset.
- Collaborative, team-focused delivery experience across data, analytics, and technology organizations.
- Excellent knowledge of data and metadata management principles, business analysis, and process engineering.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with knowledge graphs and graph databases such as Neo4j, Stardog, Amazon Neptune, or Azure Cosmos DB (Graph).
- Proficiency with ontology and semantic modeling standards and tools: OWL, RDF, SKOS, Protg, TopBraid, Stardog Studio.
- Familiarity with enterprise data and knowledge catalogs: Alation, Collibra, Microsoft Purview, or DataHub.
- Knowledge modeling techniques including ontologies, domain models, business vocabularies and taxonomies, semantic normalization, and entity-relationship modeling.
- AI context delivery patterns such as vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Azure AI Search), hybrid graph plus vector retrieval, and metadata-driven prompt context.
