Position Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Mechatronics Engineer with strong product design experience to support the development of next-generation motion control systems.
This role is heavily focused on mechanical design and integration of electro-mechanical components, requiring deep experience in SolidWorks, GD&T, and industrial product development.
The ideal candidate has 4-8 years of experience designing and developing complex electro-mechanical products, along with hands-on experience working with actuators, motors, servo systems, and test equipment in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end product design and development of electro-mechanical systems from concept through production
- Design and integrate components including actuators, motors, servo drives, gears, bearings, sensors, connectors, and controllers
- Create detailed 3D CAD models and drawings in SolidWorks, including full documentation packages
- Apply GD&T principles to ensure manufacturability, quality, and proper tolerance stack-up
- Develop and execute test plans using electrical and mechanical test equipment to validate system performance
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting, validation, and failure analysis at component and system levels
- Generate test procedures, reports, and engineering documentation
- Collaborate with manufacturing, sourcing, and suppliers to support BOM creation, prototyping, and production readiness
- Support continuous improvement and refinement of engineering processes
- Contribute to technical problem-solving across projects and mentor junior engineers as needed
Required Qualifications & Skills (Must-Have)
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
- 4-8 years of experience in industrial product design and development (REQUIRED)
- Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks with significant daily usage (REQUIRED)
- Strong working knowledge of GD&T (REQUIRED)
- Proven experience designing electro-mechanical systems in a manufacturing environment
- Hands-on experience with:
- Actuators, motors, servo drives
- Gears, bearings, connectors, and sensors
- Controllers and motion systems
- Experience using electrical/mechanical test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, etc.)
- Strong design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience commissioning or tuning servo drive systems
- Familiarity with motion control platforms (e.g., Copley, Elmo, Mitsubishi, Yaskawa, Siemens, Bosch Rexroth, Allen-Bradley)
- Experience with EtherCAT , CANopen , or similar industrial networks
- Programming experience (Python, LabVIEW)
- Experience with PCBAs or embedded systems integration
- Background in robotics or automated machinery
