Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced IBM z/OS Connect Engineer with expertise in enabling mainframe systems for modern API and AI integrations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with z/OS Connect, strong mainframe knowledge, and exposure to integrating enterprise systems with LLM-based applications using modern protocols such as Model Context Protocol (MCP).

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop APIs using IBM z/OS Connect Enterprise Edition (EE)
Expose mainframe assets (CICS/IMS transactions) as RESTful services
Create and manage z/OS Assets with accurate request/response mappings
Define and implement JSON schemas for API communication
Enable integration between mainframe systems and LLM/AI applications
Support Model Context Protocol (MCP) to allow AI systems to securely interact with mainframe data
Collaborate with cross-functional teams across mainframe, integration, and AI/ML domains
Ensure performance, security, and reliability of API and integration layers

Required Skills & Qualifications

Strong hands-on experience with IBM z/OS Connect EE
Solid knowledge of mainframe systems (CICS, IMS)
Experience in designing and exposing REST APIs from mainframe applications
Proficiency in JSON schema design and data mapping
Understanding of system integrations across legacy and modern platforms
Exposure to LLM/AI integrations and API-driven architectures
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
