Systems Support Engineer/Application Support Role (W2)

Application Support role, AWS, Linux, Scripting skills. 

Responsibilities

A motivated early-career engineer with robust Linux, cloud, and automation fundamentals who is eager to learn Swift technologies, AWS, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, GitHub workflows, and AI-assisted engineering tools while contributing to the support and modernization of a business-critical platform. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

·         Support the day-to-day operation of the Swift platform and related infrastructure. 

·         Monitor applications, investigate alerts, and assist with incident resolution. 

·         Perform routine operational tasks, including server health checks, log reviews, and troubleshooting. 

·         Support application deployments, upgrades, patching, and change activities. 

·         Assist with maintaining technical documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures. 

·         Learn and support AWS cloud services used by the Swift platform. 

·         Participate in on-call rotations and support activities as experience grows. 

·         Collaborate with CloudOps, IAM, Cybersecurity, Networking, and application teams. 

·         Support audit, security, compliance, and vulnerability remediation activities. 

·         Contribute to automation and process improvement initiatives. 

·         Participate in Agile ceremonies and team deliverables.

Qualifications

Preferred Skills: 

·         Git and GitHub experience. 

·         Exposure to CI/CD concepts and tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps. Exposure to Infrastructure as Code concepts ( CloudFormation or Terraform). 

·         Familiarity with AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, Claude 

·         Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts and secure coding practices. 

·         Internship, lab, academic, or personal project experience supporting applications or cloud environments. 

Nice-to-Have Experience: 

·         AWS fundamentals (EC2, VPC, Security Groups, IAM). 

·         Swift applications (AWP, SAA, SAG/SNL, HSM) 

·         Linux administration coursework or hands-on experience. 

·         Financial services or payment systems exposure. 

·         Exposure to DevOps and automation practices.
