POSITION OVERVIEW
The Storage Migration Specialist leads migrations of enterprise tape management, storage monitoring, and catalog management solutions from ISV products to IBM's integrated DFSMS suite. The role encompasses technical delivery, client training, and documentation, and requires a detailed understanding of IBM z/OS storage architecture, DFSMSrmm, and the broader IBM storage management portfolio.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead CA-1 Tape Management System to IBM DFSMSrmm migrations, providing configuration, installation, and RMM migration JCL code and runtime parameters.
Deliver IBM OMEGAMON for Storage, IBM Advanced Audit for DFSMShsm, and IBM Advanced Reporting for DFSMShsm configuration and installation assistance.
Lead CA FAVER to IBM Advanced Catalog Management (ACM) migrations, providing customized ACM JCL.
Provide IBM Global Resource Serialization (GRS) migration assistance, including PARMLIB member creation, training, and operational planning.
Lead CA Allocate to IBM Advanced Allocation Management (AAM) migrations, including installation, configuration, and client training.
Serve as the primary technical resource for storage administrators throughout the migration lifecycle.
Write REXX and Assembler programs in support of storage automation and migration tasks.
Primary Skill Set
5+ years' experience in a mainframe operations environment in an operational, service, consultancy, or support capacity.
Demonstrated strong written and communications skills.
Proficiency with TSO and ISPF.
JCL skills.
Ability to write REXX and Assembler programs.
Hands-on experience with DFSMSrmm and/or CA-1 Tape Management System.
