Ab Initio Developer (8-10 Years)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Ab Initio Developer with 8-10 years of experience in ETL development, data warehousing, and large-scale data integration projects. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in Ab Initio, Unix Shell Scripting, SQL (Teradata/Hadoop), Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), and ETL optimization, with prior experience in the Banking domain. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing scalable ETL solutions while leading technical initiatives and mentoring junior developers.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and own the complete ETL development lifecycle from requirement analysis through implementation and production support.
• Design, develop, optimize, and maintain ETL solutions using Ab Initio.
• Build scalable data integration pipelines for large-volume data processing and transformation.
• Develop and maintain Unix Shell scripts for automation, monitoring, and operational support.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data transformation logic using Teradata, Hadoop, or related platforms.
• Work with Cloud Storage and cloud-native ETL processing tools within Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
• Establish and maintain data lineage, metadata management, and governance using Ab Initio Metadata Hub.
• Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data solutions.
• Lead and mentor onshore/offshore development teams and conduct code reviews.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, estimation, and retrospectives.
• Ensure ETL solutions meet performance, scalability, security, and compliance standards.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement performance optimization strategies.

Required Skills

ETL & Data Integration

• 7+ years of hands-on experience with Ab Initio ETL development.
• Strong expertise in ETL design, development, optimization, and performance tuning.
• Experience with large-scale data integration and enterprise data warehouse projects.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and metadata management.

Database & Big Data

• Strong SQL development experience.
• Experience working with:
  • Teradata
  • Hadoop Ecosystem
  • Oracle SQL
• Data profiling, reconciliation, and data quality validation experience.

Scripting & Automation

• Strong Unix/Linux Shell Scripting expertise.
• Experience with text processing tools (awk, sed, grep, etc.).
• Exposure to scheduling and workflow automation tools.

Cloud Technologies

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
• Hands-on experience with Cloud Storage and cloud-native ETL processing frameworks.

Programming

• Basic to intermediate knowledge of Python for automation and data processing.

Domain Experience

• Minimum 5 years of Banking or Financial Services industry experience.

Preferred Skills

• Ab Initio Metadata Hub and Data Lineage implementation.
• Experience leading distributed teams across onshore and offshore locations.
• Exposure to CI/CD and DevOps practices in data engineering environments.
• Knowledge of data governance and regulatory compliance frameworks.
