Genesis10 is currently seeking a Big Data Developer/Engineer - Onsite position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC, Denver, CO, Jacksonville, FL, Chicago, IL and Washington, DC. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. We are seeking a Big Data Developer/Engineer to join a tight-knit, supportive community passionate about delivering the best experience for customers. This is a fully onsite role, requiring work 5 days a week in the client facility.
Responsibilities: - Design and build end-to-end Near-Real Time and Batch Data Pipelines
- Perform data ingestion from various sources including message queues, file shares, REST APIs, and relational databases
- Handle data formats like JSON, CSV, and XML
- Conduct performance tuning for Spark, MapReduce, or SQL jobs
- Work within an Agile development process through all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Utilize source code and version control systems like Git and Bit Bucket
Requirements: - Strong SQL Skills (MySQL, HIVE, Impala, SPARK SQL)
- Experience with SPARK Structured Steaming
- Experience with Hadoop/Big Data and Distributed Systems (Spark, Sqoop, Kafka, MapReduce)
- Working knowledge of NoSQL Databases (HBase, SOLR), CDP/HDP, Elastic Search, and Kibana
- Hands-on programming experience in at least one of the following: Scala, Python, PHP, or Shell Scripting
- Proficiency with the Linux operating system
- Experience using Jenkins for jar management
- Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt and learn new technologies
Pay range: $63.94 - $71.94 per hour
